The Windsor Pumpkin Regatta is an annual water race held in October on
Lake Pesaquid in Windsor, Nova Scotia. The course is a half mile from start to finish.
The race features brightly coloured giant pumpkins as the sole means of flotation.
Dog surfing is where dogs are trained to surf on surfboards, skimboards,
bodyboards, windsurf boards or to bodysurf. Dog surfing competitions occur
in different states in the US. The largest dog surfing competition in the US is the
Leows Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition, which first took place in 2006.
Part of the red neck games, mud pit belly flopping has been a thing seen
1996. These games were made in celebration to the olympics and are now getting
more than 5,000 people in attendance. A couple even did it on their wedding day, in
their white clothes... Maybe someday I'll understand this game but for right now I'll
stick to the olympics.
Chessboxing is a hybrid that combines two traditional pastimes: chess and
boxing. The competitors compete in alternating rounds of chess and boxing. How a
single person could become comptetiv in the two is beyond me. Who would even
watch that?
The Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event held on the Spring
Bank Holiday at Cooper's Hill, near Gloucester in England. It was traditionally held by and
for the people who live in the local village of Brockworth, Gloucestershire, but now people
from all over the world take part. Unfortuntely some places have banned it due to them
running out of ambulances.
